What is positive and negative reinforcement? How are negative and positive reinforcement similar? How are negative and positive reinforcement different?.

Behavior analysts work to change an individual’s socially significant behaviors in meaningful ways. As the conceptually systematic dimension states, basic principles of behavior are used to change behaviors. The first basic principle we explore is reinforcement. Reinforcement is used to increase appropriate behaviors in an individual’s repertoire. Behavior analysts not only work to decrease problematic behaviors, but they also work to increase appropriate behaviors. Understanding how reinforcement works is important for adding new behaviors to an individual’s repertoire.

For this assignment, complete the following:

Define both positive and negative reinforcement. Be sure to explain how they are similar and how they are different in your definitions.

Provide two real-world, detailed examples of how positive reinforcement could be used to increase behaviors you would like to see occur more often. Also, provide two examples of how negative reinforcement could be used to increase behaviors you would like to see occur more often.

For example, an individual may use positive reinforcement to increase the behavior of working out. She could “pay” herself 10 dollars after five consecutive days of working out. Another individual may use negative reinforcement to increase the behavior of cooking healthy meals. If her dinner meals include at least two different vegetables, she can skip doing the dishes immediately after eating.

Be sure to explain why the examples you chose will work to increase behavior in the future.

Please use professional or scholarly references.

Compare or contrast The Book of Genesis creation story with a creation story from another culture or tradition (For example, Greek, Roman, Native American, Arab, or Sumerian) 150 150 Affordable Capstone Projects Written from Scratch

Compare or contrast The Book of Genesis creation story with a creation story from another culture or tradition (For example, Greek, Roman, Native American, Arab, or Sumerian) Analyze the character of God in Genesis. Consider his main characteristics, or his relationships with those he chooses to speak to, or the decisions he makes over the course of the text.

In chapter one, God said about man/men, “and let them have dominion over the fish of the seas and over the birds of the heavens, and the cattle, and over the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls upon the earth.” Some scholars have viewed this passage as a rationale for humankind’s attempts to control all aspects of nature. In other words, we’re the bosses and we must rein in nature and use it for our purposes. What do you think?

Study the female characters in Genesis and choose the one you believe has the most agency (or control over her own life and destiny.) Is she the equal of any man in the text? What makes her so unique among female characters in the text? Is she simply a stereotype or a full-bodied, well-rounded character?

According to scholar and historian John Gray, the thematic concept of good vs. evil derives not from Judaism or Christianity but first appeared in the ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrianism. Where does evil manifest itself in Genesis. Which acts and events are viewed through the lens of what is right and what is wrong? Think of the serpent in the Garden of Eden, for example. Is he evil, or is he simply providing Eve an alternative to life in the garden? Feel free also to peruse the New Testament where, one could argue, the concept of good and evil is more pronounced.

compare and contrast older ATSI mental health and older non-ATSI mental health. Common mental health conditions (and their respective prevalence rates) for older ATSI and non-ATSI individuals. Compare and contrast older ATSI mental health and older non-ATSI mental health. Common mental health conditions (and their respective prevalence rates) for older ATSI and non-ATSI individuals. How does intergenerational trauma impact older ATSI mental health compared to non-ATSI mental health?

As a health care practitioner, you may be required to work with people from various developmental stages, including older adults. Aging brings distinctive biological, psychological, social and existential challenges which can impact on mental health and wellbeing. However, with Australia’s diverse, aging population Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) individuals also experience a series of different mental health issues when moving into older age. Indeed conceptions of and experiences of aging well may vary with culture. Healthcare practitioners need to be considerate of these differences in older population groups and account for them in their patient centred care.

The Task

For your essay, you are required to compare and contrast older ATSI mental health and older non-ATSI mental health. Within your essay, you need to address the following questions:

What are the common mental health conditions (and their respective prevalence rates) for older ATSI and non-ATSI individuals?

What are the common risk facts for various mental health conditions for older ATSI and non-ATSI individuals?

How does intergenerational trauma impact older ATSI mental health compared to non-ATSI mental health?

What are the most evidence-based mental health treatments for older ATSI individuals?

How do these treatments differ from non-ATSI mental health treatments?

Hint: This is potentially a very large topic, so it may be useful to focus on illustrative examples of a few common mental health issues and the ‘treatment’ rather than undertake a comprehensive survey of all evidence based treatments.

The assignment brief is a separate document in the Moodle page for the module. Assignment length The length of an assignment is limited by a set number of words. The purpose of this is to contribute towards the development of writing skills and to ensure all work is assessed equitably. We therefore require you to complete your assignments within the number of words specified in the assignment brief. You will need to think carefully about how best to explain your case within the permitted number of words, using, for example, an appropriate mix of text, drawings, diagrams and tables, supplemented by information contained in appendices. Please also remember that a report can be enhanced or damaged through layout, for example, placing all tables and drawings in appendices can hamper the flow of discussion. Decisions therefore need to be made about the most appropriate place to use tables etc, to support your case. The specified word count refers to the main body of the report and does not include front cover, title page, contents page, executive summary, reference list, bibliography or appendices. The word count does include headings, tables and in-text citations, but not equations or diagrams. Appendices themselves will not be marked. However, inappropriate use of appendices will be taken into consideration when awarding the final mark. Words that exceed the maximum allowed will not be marked. If in doubt, you should discuss this with the Module Leader before submission
