Drug trafficking is the most profitable business in the world. The drug traffickers employ the most aggressive, sophisticated and ruthless methods to transport drugs from one location to another.  The war against drugs faces serious challenges while patrolling the borders between countries. According to recent statistics, over 60 million people are entering the United States every year using the private and commercial airlines (Dorsey, Middleton, 2008).  There are a quarter billion individuals who get in and out via land and sea transportation means especially Canada and Mexico.  The ships docking at the port have millions of tons of containers. The US government allows free trade on the borders. The drug traffickers utilize the trade routes to conceal methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), marijuana, cocaine, and heroin. The drugs find their way into United States communities and neighborhoods.

One drug Cartel and the Method of trafficking

There are diverse groups of people who manufacture, distribute and use illegal drugs. The southern American continent is home to the criminal gangs that use all means to smuggle heroin and cocaine into America.  The Drug Enforcement Administration in the United States indicates that seven Mexican Cartels controls the illegal market (DEA, 2015). The DEA report indicated that the current agencies lack the power and infrastructure to challenge or overcome the cartels controlling the illicit drug market.

The Sinaloa Cartel is one of the wealthiest and most powerful drug cartels in Mexico and around the world. The cartel has its base in mountainous part of Pacific coast in Mexico.  Many of the notorious drugs originate from Sinaloa State, a contraband center (Grillo, 2017).  The region is known for the extensive cultivation of poppy and marijuana. The Sinaloa cartel began as subsistence farming families.
