Review the recording of the teacher doing a literacy lesson. Reflect on her teaching practice. Provide a formal assessment of her work. Describe how the lesson met the needs of that particular child/children and then evaluate how you would adapt the next lesson, based on informal and formal assessment of the child/children progress. (The children in the video all know the -at family of rhyming words but struggled connecting that same concept to other word families and rhyming words. The lesson was designed to assess book handling skills, rhyming words and pulling rhyming words from literature. The boy in the video, Colin, was the main focus due to his ADHD)
Be sure to describe what assessments you would use with the child in order to create the next steps in learning.
