Many businesses and companies have place operational success as one of the key drivers to their operations. Operational success is key to achieving success with the customers and employees of both top and middle companies have to identify how to follow certain laid out processed and make fast decisions with strategic implications. According to Oakland (2014), operational success is a key to business competitiveness that organizations aspire for and the top management of companies and businesses have to come up with significant processes that will help add value to the business. However, most companies, businesses, and organizations experience some form of barriers that hinder achievement of business success. To achieve business success, efficiency, confidence, and innovation it is necessary for businesses to be able to identify problems that may impact their operations and correct them in time. This paper focuses on identifying the barriers that various businesses face and the impacts that these barriers may have on the operations of businesses.
Tools for Organizations to Use to Identify Barriers
Organizations use several tools to help identify barriers and correct them for them to achieve operational excellence. According to Oakland (2014), one important tool that an organization can use to identify barriers to their success is through communication. Oakland (2014) states that communication is an important tool that connects different departments and teams in an organization. Organizations can use communication to speak out on problems that the organization and the employees are having at a specific moment. By communicating the problems, appropriate solutions can be found. Smith & O’Connell (2013) add that organizations operate through timelines to achieve their excellence. The team members are alerted of these deadlines which the management is able to identify any barrier in case such timelines cannot be achieved.
