Di (2011), defines conflict as a discord, disagreement, or some other form of friction that arises when the belief of one party is unacceptable and resisted by a member(s) of another group. Kheel (2001), defines conflict as the process that commences when one party is not happy with how another party has affected their actions that they care about. In day-to-day activities, conflict cannot be avoidable. It is present in workplaces where it arises from organizational issues, work role issues, personal attributes, and internal perceptions. If it is not handled carefully it can be destructive and threatens business partnerships, interpersonal relationships, and team connections. In addition, conflict may result in behaviors perceived to be inappropriate and therefore lower the morale of the workforce and hinder their productivity. However, in cases where there exist proper conflict management strategies, conflict becomes an essential part of achieving the effectiveness of the team. Through conflict management, people learn to recognize interpersonal differences, how to address the problems, and how to benefit from these differences. This paper focuses on a conflict between a coworker and me on some work scheduling issues.
